Understanding Client-Side Encryption
Most cloud providers encrypt your data on their servers, but they hold the keys. Client-side encryption means YOU encrypt the files on your device BEFORE they even reach the cloud. This ensures that even if a hacker gains access to the cloud provider's database, they only see garbled, unreadable data.
Tools like Cryptomator work perfectly with Terabox. You create an encrypted "vault" inside your Terabox folder. Every file you drop into that vault is automatically encrypted. It's the ultimate way to store sensitive documents like ID copies, tax records, or private passwords.
The Importance of 2FA
A strong password is no longer enough. Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a critical second layer of defense. Even if someone steals your login credentials, they cannot access your account without the time-sensitive code from your phone. We recommend using authenticator apps like Google Authenticator or Authy rather than SMS codes, as they are less susceptible to SIM-swapping attacks.
